What do you think about Socialist countries Politics and governments

But you are telling me to believe you but not my own eyes. And of course you know better how are things are running in Russia.
No. I was saying you don’t have to have lived in a place (for 10 years or more) to know something about it, or have an opinion.
As an example you seem to have a negative view of countries like Iran, Iraq and Libya. So do a lot of people, including me. I didn’t live there though, did you?
I bet we could find people from those who insist that we are wrong about them and they’re running the country the right way.
Brendan, so, are you going to live in Irak, Libia, Iran? Are they socialist countries? No, they are not socialist countries.

You are saying that I am saying propaganda, but actually you doing it yourself.
I’m offering my opinion. That’s what this forum is for isn’t it? Everyone’s entitled to their own...at least in some parts of the world.
I never said that you were “saying propaganda”. I did say that I thought you were an ideologist and I stand by that.
You have shown a tactic which is common for someone who doesn’t have much of an argument, though. Since I am not a socialist, you make the assumption that I must condone any bad thing that happens outside of a socialist country.
Brendan, so, are you going to live in Irak, Libia, Iran?
But reactionaries just killed the president. Do you call it democracy?
That’s you trying to make the conversation about something else. It’s a common tactic among socialists because you can’t argue for socialism on its own merits.

Brendan, you write many messages, but I can't do the same thing. Somehow I have a qoutas on writing messages.
You know, if I begin to answer all of your questions it will take me several hours.
Sorry I’m the kind of the person who asks a lot of questions and doesn’t like being told what to think. I guess that’s why I’m not a socialist.
Does that mean the conversation is over? Well it’s been interesting talking to you.

Brendan, I already answered to you. We can go round and round. Let's put it without any lyrics, how many times the USA started the war, and how many times Russia started the war? Do I need to add something to it? Talk is cheap.

Your doing it again SergeyMoro.
Do you remember me saying this...

Can you actually come up with an argument for socialism? Or are you just gonna criticize capitalism?
this...
That’s you trying to make the conversation about something else. It’s a common tactic among socialists because you can’t argue for socialism on its own merits.
or this...
You have shown a tactic which is common for someone who doesn’t have much of an argument, though. Since I am not a socialist, you make the assumption that I must condone any bad thing that happens outside of a socialist country.
I’m starting to think your not reading my comments at all. You just go with whatever you want.
I thought you were here to talk about socialism. All you’ve really said about it so far is that you think “China is on the right track”.
I wonder what’s it on track to do?

Brendan, you need argument in favor of socialism or against it? That was the topic! First of all, we have to define what is socialism? But it's a very long discussion. Let's get it simple. China made a great progress recently. Isn't it a prove that socialism is still alive and developing? Yes, capitalist countries have more freedom, but what a mess they created recently? What I don't understand is that people always looking for enemies? Why it has to be a capitalism or socialism? Can you simply live in peace? Why NATO, why Taiwan, Donbass? Don't you see it's crazy? Let's fight communists? Why not capitalist pigs? It looks like people just searching the reasons to fight. Why we just can relax a little bit, live and prosper?

Is this forum restricted to both of you?

Quick question : Does Socialism promote fossile or renewable energies ?

Is this forum restricted to both of you?
Good question! Does someone else want to have a go?

Yes, Sabri.RC, it does. Same question - does capitalist countries may use 5G technologies? It's a joke, but not much. We are talking about many things and about nothing. Good and bad points of socialism and capitalism. In socialist countries we have a free education system, free medicine, less crime and I can go on and on. But it wasn't an answer that Brendan wanted to hear. I guess. But if you ask me where I would like to live, I am not sure. That's why I say that the question is never simple. We have to see and consider different features.

I think all governments will talk big when it comes to renewable energy. Here are some statistics of the percentages of renewable energy they actually use.
https://ourworldindata.org/renewable-energy

Here’s a bunch of statistics comparing multiple countries. Mostly they concern crime, education and healthcare.

Countries with free healthcare. Not limited to socialist countries.

Life expectancy is a pretty good indicator of health.

Crime statistics. These are for regular crimes committed by individuals, not crimes against humanity.

Brendan, that's exactly proves my point! In socialist countries is a very low crime rate. Some statistic might be true, some not. I read different kind of statistic and you know - statistic is a soft weapon. So, when you read statistic in different countries it usually differs. Why? Exactly because I said - statistic is a weapon! So, I usually use my own head to judge if it's true or not. I have no "Gods" of some kind in my head. Example, UN was an international organization that supposed to be neutral, but it's not anymore. How can we trust it's data? When different countries have different opinion on one subject, what is it? Why? When we don't have anymore a "Supreme cort", whom we are going to trust? I know, you read a lot of sources of information. But if it's all fake, what do we do? And don't think I am paranoid. What media was saying about Trump? Why Julien Assange is in prison? What did he do? Did he kill somebody? Do we have to look for dissidents? How about this sign - dogs and Russians are not allowed in our restaurant? Are we going completely nuts? .

Socialist countries having lower crime rates is kind of a broad statement. They have lower crime rates than some countries, higher than others. Like I said these stats don’t include crimes against humanity.
The crime rate in Venezuela isn't that low.

You can read from different points of view and use your own judgement. I know people might different agendas or ideologies when it comes to information presented.
As I said previously you could find someone who believes sharia law is a good thing. I believe such a person has some interest in saying so. Maybe they’ve been raised with such beliefs and been indoctrinated. Maybe they could get in trouble for saying otherwise. I believe a socialist is similar to this.
If you don’t trust authority when it comes to information then why trust an authoritarian government?
I don’t believe everything my government tells me.
I don’t want to give them more power than they already have.

Once again...
That’s you trying to make the conversation about something else. It’s a common tactic among socialists because you can’t argue for socialism on its own merits.

Brendan235, you know, it's a very strange conversation. I lived in USSR. It was a socialist country. I know how people lived there, but you know it better because you read it somewhere? Isn't it funny? You can find any data you want, you can read Solzhenizin and Bjezinsky, but it will not change anything. It's pointless.

Hi Sergey and Brendan, I am glad you can express your opinions on this topic. Please allow me to add one more question: what is now the most important thing? Find a suitable society for all human beings?

I hardly read history, and I know nothing about what has happened, even about China. I just have a strange feeling, why we would expect someone to provide us with a perfect country or perfect society?

When I think about the other species on the same Earth, I feel sad and do not know why. Human beings have curiosity and evolve very quickly, so we take the land, the sea, and the sky. We keep animals in the zoo like a pet. How long will it last? It is pointless to think about these questions maybe. It will last much longer than me.
