  • Something to tell the world!

Hi, I'm Pascal, a 25 year old guy from Germany who is planning a year abroad at the Westcoast of the USA. I want to work there as a gardener and visit as much of the interesting places I can. For that I'm looking for a penpal with whom I could write to train my language. But also for exchanging ideas and experiences regarding nature, plants, the garden culture, the food or the normal life in the country.
I'm looking forward to your message.

  • Something uncommon about me

Well I guess growing mushrooms on coffee grounds or other remains is pretty unusual, isnt't it? But don't worry only the legal and eatable ones like oyster mushrooms.

  • My proudest accomplishments

Finishing my education in the profession of a gardener and overcoming a few of my failures in the process. To be exact: I'm the gardener who propagates and nurses perennials.

  • I'm excited about...

Since a short term i have the chance to shape a big garden and the possibility of trying out everything i theorized. Especially growing my own vegetables and fruits but also propagating some interesting varieties of flowers.

  • Cities and countries I have visited

Well, early in my childhood I visited the mountains of Germany, Austria and Suisse with my grandparents. We also made holidays in Sweden where we stayed once in a touristic parc but the other time was a bit more adventurous because we were canoing on the lakes and then camped on the little islands. Another holiday which i remember fondly was when my dad and I were biking through Germany along the Mosel (river).
Certainly the most special holiday was when we were visiting America. We lend us a camper and tried to visit all the national parcs at the west coast from Vancouver to Fresno.

  • Living abroad for one year

I would love to live for a longer time at the west coast of the USA and explore the national parcs and nature in general. Also I want to work there as a gardener to improve my profession and make new experiences.

  • Making the world a better place

In general I think we should all discuss more the question of 'How do we want to live in the future?' And be honest with the answers even if that leads to rethinking one's own priorities.
Also there a lot of good ideas to make the world a better place. We just need to start act on them and it's no excuse saying 'nobody else does it' and 'it's no difference if only one person lives right'. Because with that belief we have already lost.

  • A personal challenge

Fighting my own demons, especially the anxiouties. One year abroad would definitely be the biggest step, but i do believe it to be rewarding.

  • A trick or piece of advice

Never give up the fight. Because it get's better with effort and time and help. Or maybe I just got better at fighting.
