• Something to tell the world!

  Hello, I´m Dominik and 24 years old. I hope to meet new people and I would like to have someone I could communicate with in my foreign languages to improve them.

• Cities and countries I have visited

  I have visited only Western European countries - mosty Italy due to family reasons - and have been once in the US. To be honest, Italy is my favourite country in terms of sites, food, culture - and I guess also because of my childhood passion for Roman history. Also the Bretagne is quite nice. I have been only once there but I hope to visit it more often. (The crime stories of Jean-Luc Bannalec just make one want to go to the Bretagne!)
  
  Fortunately, I had twice the chance to spent a longer time abroad. I have spent half a year on an American high school and half a year at an Italian university (thanks to Erasmus). Both times were amazing! If you are from Europe, I can highly recommend you to make use of the Erasmus programme.

• I always enjoy talking about...

  I am up for any subjects to discuss because I am eager to either exchange views and opinions with you or to learn about something new. I would love to know more about the place where you live, its culture and any other things you are interested in. Please do not hesitate to write me a message 🙂 !

• Favourite books/authors/films

  From the German authors I like Thomas Mann and Lion Feuchtwanger a lot. These are just great books both in terms of the story as well as the language. The latter I discovered only recently but now I am devouring his books, so they speak!

  Besides them, I like Zola - still working on his Rougon-Macquart epos - and "Il Gattopardo" by Tommasi Di Lampedusa. However, international literature is still on my bucket list. I am thankful for any tip for a good book.

  In terms of music: Kygo, Alan Walker, Kaleo & The Lumineers

• I'm excited about...

  History! Definitely history! As a child I loved Roman history. Nowadays, I am especially interested in the 18th century and the first half of the 20th century. Moreover, due to my subject of study, Economics is also quite interesting.

• Improving the school system

  I am not sure what to think about the upcoming digitalization in our school system. There are upsides like replacing a bunch of heavy books with lighter tablets which even offer a greater availability of school material. On the other hand, learning how to write and to read is probably better without tablets. I don't know! Maybe something we could discuss.

• Living abroad for one year

  Probably Italy.
