  • Something to tell the world!

Hi, I'm Thomas, a French guy. I'm looking for penpals from all over the world. I travelled in Scotland (Glasgow, Forth William, Inverness and Edinburgh), during forstnight in 2019 during the summer hollidays.
I like different kind of music : Rap, metal, punk, reggae... and also fictionnal stories, actually I'm writing a a fantasy novel.
I also do stand-up comedy not for so long.
If you want to talk with me, I can use Telegram, Whatsapp, Instagram and Email, but we are not in a hurry, let's know each other before on MP. Don't ask me all of my social networks right at the begining please. Besides, my Instagram is principally for stand-up comedy.
I speak English, a little bit of spanish and I have a few notions of Japanese ( only in rômaji) and of course french. I started to learn Japanese again this year by the way.

  • Favourite books/authors/films

I like Tolkien, Lovecraft and other fantasy writers. I appreciate animes, mangas and super heroe stories too, and a few years ago, I discovered audio dramatized series. Recently, I started to read Dune series by Frank Harbert.

  • Cities and countries I have visited

I visited Cataluña when I was a child, I also visited London when I was 15, but the trip I prefered was when I visited Scotland, because I could meet people and that's what I love when I go in a foreign country. But when I visited Cataluña and London, I was maybe too young, so, I staid with those with whom I travelled. I hope if I come back, I'll meet local people.

  • I always enjoy talking about...

Even if I'm a dreamer who loves talking about onirism or some philosophical subjects, I love talking about lots of other things, but it will be too long to list all those subjects here. Another thing you have to know about me is : I love humour, even if I'm maybe not always funny. I even started stand-up comedy the 5th of May of 2022.

  • Childhood pleasures

I think we all have got a childish part inside of our minds. So, I always have my old pleasures like imagining things. Because if the material world is limited, human imagination has no frontier. So, I keep on imagining other worlds or other realities, in order to write about them.

  • I wish people knew more about...

Maybe it could be good if we knew ourselves better than we do. Know yourself and relationships with the others will be much better.

  • My feeling about the future

We can't really anticipate the future, even if sometimes, some people was right. I'm amazed about scifi writers like George Orwell or Jules Verne who anticipated technologic innovations but also sociopolitical situation.

  • My opinion on human nature

I don't think humen are good or selfish by nature. They are free to act and chose their ways, more in a side or another. So men are potentialy really good, or toxic.

  • I feel concerned about...

As I said, I don't think humen are good or evil by nature. At the same time, they are as intelligent as stupid. So, I'm afraid of human stupidity.
Beside, there are more and more pessimistic people, and this way of thinking worries me. No hope means no future.

  • My interests in other cultures

I'm just curious to discover other ways of life or thinking.

  • A trick or piece of advice

Never give up, keep on hoping, even when your days are dark, because hope wille help creating a better future.

  • A personal challenge

For the moment, I want to finish and publish my boo and I'll maybe write others later. I also want to create my own stand-up comedy show.

  • Making the world a better place

Keep on smiling, and try to be open-minded, even if it's hard sometimes.

  • I recently learnt...

I learned stand-up comedy and to cooc a little bit better than I did. In fact, I almost didn't cook at all so I still don't really do it well yet.

  • I'm excited about...

I want to write my book but it's quite hard. So even if I don't give it up, I try to work about my stand-up and to learn Japanese again.

  • It was better before

I think this question is quite hard. There is a kind of nostaqgic impression that make us think that it was better before our time. One day, I met someone who criticized people in the subway who don't look around them because they watch their mobile. But I found an article written before WW1 criticizing people in the subway who don't look around them because they have their nose in their newspaper.
In the Antic Rome, teachers criticized turbulous pupils and in the 18th Century, Voltaire criticized young generations. Even earlier, archeologues found Babylonian tablets from 3000AD saying that younger generations don't respect anything.

  • It is better now

Nowadays, there is more accessibility for people with disabilities, even if there is still a lot of work to do.

  • My parents and me

My mother is dead, but my father is still here. I know I can count on him if I have a problem and he advices me sometimes.

  • Over or underrated

Overated: photos. We are unfortunately in a world of sight but we can be deceived. In social networks a profile picture can be a wrong one. That's why, here, I aontact people who answer to the different questions in their profile.
Underated: I think, with a conversation in dirrect, it's more complicated to be deceived by a voice. You can take a picture and put it in your profile but it iis less easy to transforme your voice, even if it's still possible. And as I told you in the previous line, I think reading is underated. People with their eyes always want pictures, pictures and pictures.

  • Something uncommon about me

Maybe you have guessed it with my previous answer but I'm blind since birth. In fact, I didn't want to divulgate it in my profile at first, even if it isn't a secret, because I didn't want people to contact me only to ask questions about blindness. But I realized that some doors are closed to me because of it. Some people don't want to talk with people without profile pictures and it's difficult for me to have one.
