  • Something to tell the world!

My name is Isabel. My mother tongue is German, however, I am fluent in English as well. With French, I am rather to be counted as a beginner. So, I am still working on it to be one day fluent there as well.... I am interested in other cultures. My hobbies are my pets, cooking and/ or baking, swimming, reading and listening to music. Looking forward to hearing from you.

  • Cities and countries I have visited

I already visited the following countries: Austria, Switzerland, Danmark, UK, Rep. Ireland, France. The favorite places I would love to visit any time again are: The Ring of Kerry (Rep. Ireland), Bretagne (France), Clovelly (UK). The Ring of Kerry owes an awesome landscape and it felt like travelling back to the past at the time of the Celtcs. While being in the Bretagne in France, I visited e.g. St. Michél. Clovelly reminds me of the olden days, when fishermen were living there.

  • My proudest accomplishments

Ups, this is quite a difficult question... In my private life it is definitely my spouse. In my business life it is my boss' recognition of the way I am doing my job.

  • My interests in other cultures

I am very interessed in other cultures and their traditions and their fairy tales and stories.

  • I'm an expert at...

I am interested in and have - let's say a good knowledge of - natural remedies, exporting goods, one or the other language skills, and some skills with cats and horses / horse breeding.

Well, counting other aspects to be an expert in, I'm tending to be an expert in: being scatty, being an attentive listener, finding it easier to give advise than following my own advise, having "Mother Theresa syndrom"

  • A personal challenge

The biggest challenge for me was caring for my beloved grand-pa when he was at the stage of high-maintenance.

  • Favourite books/authors/films

Ups, this is pretty difficult for me for I do love several books... Well, I love to read fantacy books such as e.g. The Mists of Avalon, historic books such as e.g. The life of the composer Johann Sebastian Bach, novels, and books on horses, naturla remidies. My favorite authors are: Nicholas Sparks, Barbara Wood, Marion Zimmer Bradley and Rosamunde Pilcher. My favorite movies are: Who dances with Wolves, Kevin alone at home, Mama Mia, Good Will Hunting, Message in a bottle, The Horse Wisperer

  • Living abroad for one year

Whenever I will have the chance to live abroad for a year, I would need to cut it into two periods of half a year each.. 🙂 This would be Rep. of Ireland and New Zealand then.

  • I always enjoy talking about...

All the world and his brother. What ever topic you might be interested in, just suggest for conversation.

  • Making the world a better place

To make the world a better place to live in, people should be more respectful to any other human, animals/ wildlife, and our mother nature.

  • Personal skills

Well, my friends say I would be a good listener, I love to care for animals (I got a tomcat and a cat as pets and a Haflinger horse),

  • Childhood pleasures

When I was a child I loved to do e.g. marmelade with my grand-ma. I remember spending afternoons playing board games with my friends and grand-pa. Certainly, playing with my school mates and the neighboring kids. Due to being an only child, I loved summer camp. With one or the other participants I had a penpalship for quite some year. One of the summer camp participants and me became life-time friends. We got to know each other at the age of about 12 or 13 and are still very close mates.

  • I recently learnt...

Recently, I restarted learning French and noticed that I forgot very much on this language. Well, I am constantant learner of horse and horse breeding skills due to my spouce is doing horse breeding.

  • 10 years from now

Well, I really don't know what and where I will be in 10 year's time. Anyway, I do hope still being interested in everything and nothing (guess this is not correct English...).

  • I'm excited about...

Being on vacation with my spouce soon. I am already counting days... 🙂

  • Something uncommon about me

Please ask my friends. LOL Think being able to patiently listening to others' issues and just being the way I am.

  • It was better before

Ups, guess I am not the right person to ask this... Remembering my parents' stories life was not that packed with technical items..

  • It is better now

The technological progress makes things easier in household and with the industrial companies and farmers. Students seems to have more choise after finishing education.

  • I wish people knew more about...

Humans should care more for side effects with the latest developments. Although research and progress offers new options and perspectives, the knowledge of our ancestors should not be forgot.

  • As a child, I wish...

Nothing to be honest. My childhood was a very good one in general. The only thing I missed were siblings and pets.

  • A career without obstacles

The one I do have. Luck was with me and I was always working in an Export Departement at any company. I love working with customers and using English, German and very rarely French for communications.

  • My parents and me

Ehm, I guess I need to think about this questions for off-hand I don't know any answer on this.

  • My feeling about the future

Predominately, it is a "yes". Depending on my mood, the answer might be different.

  • My opinion on human nature

Personally, I do think the humans are good-natured. Hard-headed humans might either have a lack of social life or simply had predominately negative experience.

  • I feel concerned about...

The only worrying thing is that there are still wars in some areas in the world....

  • A trick or piece of advice

Stick to your principles and remain true to yourself.

  • Life regrets

No, I don't regret anything in my life.

  • Improving the school system

Sometimes, I think it might be helpful for the students when they would have a subject that might be called "real life". There students should be able to learn some things of every-day life: e.g. how to find and rent a flat, how to open an own account, how to keep household, how to deal with administrative offices and so on. Guess this might help the "kids" when they are moving one day from their parents'.

  • Over or underrated

    No, idea - sorry.
