Any winter sports fans here? Anything and everything

Hey you guys out there 🙂
I am a huge winter sports fan, especially ski jumping and biathlon and I thought it would be nice to find people with the same passion to discuss news, competitions e.g. Anyone interested?

Hey, that's great. I really like watching Snowboard competitions from time to time. It looks so spectacular what they are doing with their board. Unfortunately I am not that talented. So what about you? Are you just watching like me or are you snowboarding by yourself?

Yeah, so I guess you'll watch the qualification today? It's so exciting to see them jumping again after this long time and with the best available team. I am curious in wich condition they all are, espacially if Kamil Stoch is beatable or not 😉 What about you? Your guesses for the new season?

imo the whole polish team improve the performance

Yeah of course. I really like the polish team (Okay, I like every team), but I am cheering for team Austria. Unfortunately, they are not that good at the moment. Okay, to be honest: for the last few years.
Today it seems like the german team has best chances to win. But we'll see. Because I am not sure what the norwegians are able to perform. The same is for the polish team. Yesterday I couldn't evaluate which jump wasn't that good because of the wind and which because of the athlete. So it keeps going to be exciting.

Yes, of course I know Janne Ahonen. He is a legend. And decided to retire (the third time, if I am counting right) few weeks ago . He is one of the persons who characterized ski jumping for years. But I think the retirement was the right decision. Unfortunately the finish team isn't that good at the moment. Aalto was pretty good at the qualification yesterday. But today, he didn't persuade me. I was also hoping for Määttä, but at some point he didn't improve his performance. But I heard it's a difficult situation at the finnish ski federation and the always changing coaches didn't make things better, I guess.
And I know Kaisa Mäkäräinen, because I love Biathlon too. She is an amzing and talented athlete, but has difficulties at the moment (or at least the last season).
The rest of the names I heard, but I didn't follow these sports. So, these are just names for me.

Do you remember Winter olympic games? We got gold medals in mens cross-country skiing in Sochi & Pyeongchang (Jauhojärvi & Niskanen). Did you know that Janne's nickname is The King Eagle.

I'm sorry. Everything I remember was Simon Ammann, Andreas Wellinger and Kamil Stoch winning the gold medals. And I remember I watched the competions of biathlon. I didn't know that his nickname is The eagle king, but it fits very well. It reminds me of "Eddie the eagle" but he is totally another league. 😃

Did you see the team competition yesterday? Kubacki made it quite exciting at the second run. But, okay, then there was king Kamil so everything went well. And I am so proud of the austrian team. Finally a podium again 🙂

Skijumping? Never did that, too. And to be honest: I would rather chain myself to the beam than to jump down there.

unfortunately, I could not see, but I know the results.
I saw yesterday's competition.The competitors managed well (despite the wind). And I personally besides Poles, also support Japanese
